A woman with a previous history of OVI arrests landed behind bars again, and police say she did not go willingly.
Just before 6 pm, a caller reported a woman nodding in and out in a silver PD Cruiser near Vinton and High Streets. An officer said she was uncooperative when asked to get out of her car and kicked the door at them.
Police took Sherri Hicks into custody and arranged to have the 44-year-old woman’s vehicle towed.
Officers said she would not calm down, and they had to place her in a restrain chair at the jail.
Police charged her with OVI, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, and probation violation. Ms. Hicks was in court back on October 23 for an assault charge. She pleaded no contest and was sentenced to probation, 30 days in jail (which was suspended), and $130 in court costs (which were suspended).
Her previous arrests include driving under the influence, endangering children, and driving with a suspended license.
