For the fourth time in less than a decade, Nicolas Browning is facing charges for driving without a license. Deputies say the 35-year-old Portsmouth man was pulled over in Wheelersburg and quickly discovered to be both unlicensed and wanted on an open warrant.
Browning’s license was suspended for failure to pay child support, but that didn’t stop him from getting behind the wheel. Deputies allowed someone else to drive his car home instead of towing it, but Browning himself was hauled to the Scioto County Jail.
A Pattern of Arrests
Court records show Browning was already cited in August for driving without a license but failed to show up for his September court date, leading to the warrant that got him arrested this week. He’s due back in Portsmouth Municipal Court on October 16th for pre-trial hearings on both cases.
This isn’t his first brush with the law. Browning was convicted of driving without a license in 2024, 2019, and 2016. Other charges on his record include disorderly conduct, running a stop sign, failure to control, and fictitious registration.
