Repeat OVI Offender Busted Again After 2 A.M. Traffic Stop

Darnell Lisath

A familiar face to local law enforcement is back in trouble after police say he was caught behind the wheel while impaired, again.

Just after 2:30 a.m., Portsmouth officers pulled over a vehicle near Rally’s on Monroe Street and determined the driver, Darnell Lisath, was under the influence. He was arrested for having physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated and cited for running a stop sign.

Police called for a tow truck to impound his vehicle and booked Lisath into the Scioto County Jail. He later appeared in Portsmouth Municipal Court, posted bail, and was released. His next court date is set for December 1.

A Long Road of Repeat Offenses

Court records show Lisath has a long history of driving-related convictions, including multiple charges for driving under suspension and several prior OVI arrests.

Arrests like this show how dangerous repeat impaired drivers can be — both to themselves and others. Despite multiple convictions, too many drivers continue to get behind the wheel after drinking, risking tragedy every time.
