Richard D. Fritz, 68, of Wheelersburg, died Saturday morning, January 22, 2022, in the SOMC Hospice Center. Born on October 7, 1953, in Portsmouth, he was the son of the late Cornell and Cora Allene Eckhart Fritz.
Richard was a former emergency medical technician for Porter township, being one of the first team when it was started. He was a member of the Oldsmobile Club of America and a funeral assistant at several funeral homes.
Surviving are his wife Gladys Belcher Fritz, brother-in-law, Tom Secrest; nephews Jonathan Secrest and Joe Secrest; several additional nephews and nieces, and of course, his cat Gismo.
A service will be announced at a later date.
Gladys wishes a public THANK YOU to the women and men of the Porter EMS and Porter Fire Department for the many, many times they responded for Richard.
