January 1, 1964 - December 13, 2020

Rock Aaron “Rocky” Reeves, 56, South Shore, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 13, 2020.  Rock passed away at home surrounded by his family, friends and loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his mother Janice Clark Reeves and his father James Ernest Reeves.

Surviving are his wife Lynn Grubb Reeves, two daughters, Jessica (Jimmy) Powers of Waverly, OH and Tara (Dustin) Burchett of Ashland, KY.
Four grandchildren, Kylea,  Brock, Carmen, and Serena;  Brother, Jimmy Reeves and nephew, Greg Reeves, both of Portsmouth, OH;  life-long friend, Gene Ratliff, several aunts, uncles and cousins and many, many wonderful friends.

Rock graduated from Portsmouth West High School in 1982, and worked at Dayton Walther in Portsmouth and for the past 19 years at AK Steel in Ashland KY.

Rock was known as an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and hot-rod car enthusiast.  You could usually find him out in the woods, at a car show or in his garage, with his buddies building and rebuilding hot rods!  Words people said about Rock:  Hard working, caring, loyal, great sense of humor, mischievous, fun-loving, delightful to be around, very very funny, never said a bad word about anyone and a giver.  The love he had for his wife Lynn, daughters, and grandbabies could not be measured.

His granddaughter Carmen Burchett said, “One thing that everyone always said about his character was he was an awesome person who never ever let anybody in need suffer, he would take you under his wing and give you everything you needed, that is why he was loved by everyone who knew him.”  Carmen also told us, “One thing that my Papaw told me was “When you help others in their hour of need, in your hour of need they will help you.”
