Roger Lee Davis, 73 of South Webster

Roger Lee Davis, 73 of South Webster, died Friday, October 14, 2022, at SOMC Hospice. He was born October 31, 1948, in Lima, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Hazel Spradlin Davis. Along with his parents, Roger was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Ann Davis, and a brother, Phillip Cochran.

Roger retired from Norfolk and Southern after 34 years of service. He attended Rubyville Community Church, was a member of Nauvoo Masonic Lodge, and was a 32 Degree Mason. He was a former member of the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was very active in his church and community. He taught Sunday School, coached little league baseball for many years, and was an avid golfer.

Roger is survived by his wife Julia “Judy” Meeker Davis whom he married on November 2, 1966, a son Douglas Lee (Melissa) Davis, a daughter Jill (Mark ) Hardin, step mother, Anna Davis, brothers and sisters: Edward (Christy) Davis, Cathy (Gary) Sirek, Rick Cochran and Melody (Rick) Niblick, 6 grandchildren: Alicia Bester, Jessica (Caleb) Brown, Kaitlyn (Tanner) Lawhun, Kelsey Davis, Josh Davis and Grace Hardin, 8 great grandchildren: Grahm, Macie Jo, Hayden, Braxton, Tinlee, Remi, Reid, and Matthew along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Rubyville Community Church with Calvin Ray Evans, Brian Baer, and Mike Blanton officiating and interment in Vernon Cemetery. Friends may call at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth from 5 to 8:00 PM on Monday and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

A Masonic service will be held at 8:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home by Nauvoo Masonic Lodge #769. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
