Ruth Ann Shuff, 86, of Minford, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at River Run Healthcare in Franklin Furnace. She was born on January 14, 1940, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late Isadore and Bertha (Holsinger) Weaver, and lived a life marked by devotion to education, faith, and family.
Ruth earned her master’s degree in teaching and devoted her career to serving as a school teacher at Minford Schools. Through her work in the classroom, she shared knowledge, guidance, and care with the students whose lives she touched over the years. Her commitment to learning and to the calling of teaching reflected the steady and thoughtful way she lived.
Her faith was also an important part of her life. Ruth attended Harrison Free Will Baptist Church, where she found fellowship and worship among her church community.
Above all, Ruth cherished her family, she is survived by her two daughters, Dee-anna (Mark) Veach, Patty (Jim) Blackburn; four grandchildren, Grant (Danielle) Blackburn, Sarah (James) Scaff, Maggie Blackburn, Matthew Veach, and four great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Aurora, William, and Raelynn.
Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter, Mona Lynn Shuff, and by her siblings Chester, Helen, Alberta, and Paul.
The family would like to thank River Run Nursing Home in Franklin Furnace for the wonderful care they provided our mother. The caring staff members went above and beyond and their love and support will never be forgotten.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace with Pastor Mike Mounts officiating. Visitation will be at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral in Minford on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com
