Ruth Marie Carver, 72, of Franklin Furnace, OH., entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on February 22, 2025, surrounded by her devoted husband, loving sons, and family. She was sung into heaven with How great thou art. She was born in Richwood, OH., on December 8, 1952, a daughter of the late Jack Gibson and Annalee Roberts.
Ruthie was a woman of Immense love, unwavering strength, and a light to all who knew her. Music was a big part of her life, she traveled and sang with her family for years, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful songs she had written, which touched countless lives. Her love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life from her music, prayer garden, her paintings, and the joy of playing the piano and singing.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by one daughter, Shannon Preston; two sisters, Linda Barga and Susan Cantrell.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband whom she married on April 4, 2010 Ben Carver; two sons, Craig (Melissa) Hartzell and Dustin (Brittany) Hartzell; one daughter, Amy (Josh) Lewis; ten grandchildren, Ty Eller, Brilynn (Brian) McCulloch, Mikayla Wiskerchen, Elly Lewis, Olivia Romeril, Lexi Hartzell, Sydney Lewis, Emma Hartzell, Waylon Hammons and Willow Hartzell; one great-grandchild, John McCulloch; brothers & sisters, Jackie Miller, Mark Gibson, Bonnie Layne, Jon (Tammy) Harr, Lisa (JC) Clark, Karon (John) Hannah and Jodi (Rick) Cantrell; two brothers-in-law, Bill Barga and Tim Cantrell, along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Ruthie’s love, faith, and music will continue in the lives of those she touched. While our hearts ache in her absence, we rejoice in knowing she is now singing with the angels in the presence of her Savior.
Funeral services will be at 1 P.M. Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Calvin Ray Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Siloam Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 6 P.M. until 9 P.M. and on Wednesday from 12 P.M. until the funeral hour.
