Samuel Dwight Journey, 64 of West Portsmouth, died Friday, January 23, 2026 at his home. He was born December 28, 1961 in Portsmouth to the late David Nathaniel and Anna Louise Blevins Journey.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Virginia Sadler, Lois Ann Journey and Wanda Ann Journey.
Sam is survived 3 sons; Samuel Dale Journey, Brandon Dwight Journey and David Charles Journey, the mother of his children, Barbara Thacker, 6 brothers; Mike, Bart, Reese, Matt, Tony and Teddy Journey, 2 sisters; Amanda Newman and Peggy Fegly, along with 8 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, January 30, 2026 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Gary Newman officiating and interment in Stoney Run Cemetery.
