4-Wheeler vs Truck: 2 Reported Injured

A local couple’s beautiful start to the holiday weekend was ruined by a severe collision.

At 7:22 pm, A 4-wheeler, said to be occupied by 2 people, and a Gray 2019 GMC wrecked at the intersection of 772 and Big Bear Creek.

Multiple volunteer agencies responded, as well as Scioto County Sheriff and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

An Air Ambulance was almost immediately requested to be on stand-by.

After some negotiations, it was decided that the helicopter would land directly at the scene rather than at a nearby landing zone.

The male occupant was taken to SOMC, and the female occupant was taken by Air Ambulance to a Huntington area hospital.

The condition of the riders is not known at this time.

The driver of the GMC was not immediately transported to the hospital.

E&E Towing of West Portsmouth was sent to collect the 4-wheeler.

The incident remains under active investigation.
