School Bus Assault – Child Reportedly Choked

Deputies investigated a report of an assault on a school bust just before 3 pm. A woman said her middle school-aged daughter was choked by another girl during their bus ride.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they sent for a squad to check out the girl while another deputy headed to the home of the alleged perpetrator.

Officers said the child’s father was not interested in giving statements. However, he did advise there had been ongoing issues between the children and suggested officers review the bus camera to find out what happened.

A deputy attempted to contact the driver to secure the footage.

Teen Flees Into The Woods To Avoid School

A teen who really didn’t want to go to school took off from his mother near the Jesse Stuart Bridge just after 9:30 am.

His mother advised police she found him waking on Gallia Pike near the bridge, but he ran into the woods instead of going with her to school.

An officer caught up with the teen in the 400 block of Big Pete Road and returned him to his mother.

Runaway Foster Child Turns Self In

A missing foster child went into the CVS on 11th Street and turned herself into police.

Officers contacted CPS and returned the child to her home.

PPD assisted CPS in another situation just after 3 pm. CPS was in the process of removing a child from a home and wanted officers to stand by while they made contact with the parent.

Police stood by while CPS obtained the necessary information.

Juvenile Arrested for Tearing Up Apartment

Officers took a kid into custody after receiving a report that the child was tearing up everything in a Union Street Apartment.

There was already a warrant for the child through the court. PPD transported the child to the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy took custody of the juvenile and transported it to Lawrence County to be placed in a facility there.
