School Calls Cops Over COVID Concern
A local high school contacted the SCSO to request a welfare check on a student who had missed several days of school. School officials said the teen’s mother was not cooperating with them.
The school said the mother has claimed the boy has had COVID several times as well as a high fever, but had not taken them for medical treatment. Further, school officials said the mom refused to let them speak to the child.

When officers responded to the scene, the mother was quite upset the school sent the police to their door. The teen came to the door and confirmed that they had indeed been sick.
