If you were planning to attend this week’s Scioto County Commissioners meeting, you’ll need to adjust your schedule. The regularly scheduled Thursday session has been canceled.
But despite recent headline-grabbing issues—including a developing economic development scandal and the serious injury of Commissioner Cathy Coleman—officials say this cancellation isn’t tied to any of that.
In a statement released by the commissioners’ office, they made it clear the decision was made months ago:
“There will be no Board of Commissioners meeting tomorrow. This schedule was adopted back in January due to known scheduling conflicts this week. There will be 2 meetings on Tuesday and Thursday of next week. Thank you.”
So, while it’s been anything but a quiet spring for county leadership, this particular break is business as planned. The board will return to action with two meetings next week to make up for lost time.
