Scioto County Flooding: Story in Pictures

Emergency personnel from every department across Scioto County were activated today. The reason, major flash flooding events throughout the area. Overnight and early morning rain totals were about 2 inches. That combined with the waterways already dealing with 4 inches of melting snow, made for an emergency event that continues even during this reporting.

The majority of the rain event continues to the south, across Kentucky. 2 to 4 inches of rain continues to fall from Lexington to Louisa.

After today, there is no further precipitation in the forecast.

 

The fallout from today will cause the Ohio River Levels to rise. We will experience more flooding in the days to come. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Ohio River should crest at about 52 feet on Wednesday, March 3rd.
