Scioto County will get close to a million dollars in money for capital improvement projects in the state budget, much of it focusing on parks, tourism, and recreation.
Pickleball enthusiasts will be pleased to know that $100,000 is set for improvement at Mound Park’s tennis and pickleball courts, and another $105,000 is earmarked for South Webster pickleball courts.
South Webster’s Historic City Hall Events Center & Museum receives $200,000. An additional $100,000 is allocated for Lucasville Community Parks improvements, and another $100,000 will be used to revamp Singleton Park in West Portsmouth.
Portsmouth’s Market Square is slated to get $100,000 for improvements, and Porter Township’s Splash Park will receive $50,000.
The state also allocated an additional $200,000 toward the new 911 call center. We told you earlier that the state was putting up almost $700,000 for the facility. That brings the total grants awarded to the project just shy of $900,000
