Scioto County Law Enforcement and EMS Activity Report – May 1, 2025

As part of our ongoing commitment to public transparency, Scioto County Daily News continues to provide updates on law enforcement and emergency medical services activity across the county. Due to an illegal policy change earlier this year, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) no longer releases detailed incident logs to the press. However, using the information that remains publicly available, we’re breaking down the calls handled on May 1, 2025, by type and location to keep you informed. EMS and Medical-Related Calls A total of 13 emergency squad (Signal 29) calls were reported. These incidents typically involve medical distress requiring EMS response or transport to a hospital. Theft (Code 36): 3 Reports Junior Furnace-Powellsville Rd / US Hwy 52 Polymer Dr Tatman-Coe Rd Vandalism (Code 64): 2 Reports US Hwy 23 Bennett School House Rd Domestic Complaints (Code 20): 2 Reports McCorkle-Rockwell Rd Gallia Pike Suspicious Person/Vehicle (Codes 60/60A): 9 Reports Fifth Third Bank, Lucasville Country Store Foods, South Webster 13th St / Long Ave Noel Ln / Clayton Ct Atomic Credit Union, Wheelersburg Maple Benner Rd Green St Wheelersburg Jr. High Football Field Ainsley Ave Investigate Complaints (Signal 09): 6 Calls Tick Ridge Rd Shady Brook Ln Scioto County Jail Lang Slocum Ridge Rd Barker St Pine Ln (Juvenile complaint) Threats or Harassment (Code 72): LP Auto Sales, US Hwy 52 Animal Complaint (Code 18A): Reese Rd Traffic Incidents & Patrol Activity Traffic Accidents: Injury Accidents (Code 04): 3 Zuefle Dr Green St Ohio River Rd / Center St Non-Injury Accident (Code 02): STAR Community Justice Center, Gallia Pike Traffic Offenses (Code 86): 4 ST RTE 140, ST RTE 335, US Hwy 23, 3rd St Disabled Vehicle (Code 82): ST RTE 823 Traffic Jam / Road Blocked (Code 80): 2 ST RTE 104, Sherborne Rd Civil and Public Order Matters Alarm Drops (Code 78): 10 Reports Mostly from: Businesses (Big Lots, Toro Loco, Atomic Credit Union) Schools (Green Local Schools) Churches (Franklin Furnace Independent Church) Other community buildings Many were resolved as false alarms or required no further action. Neighbor Complaints (Code 20A): 2 Center St Travis Dr Civil Process (Signal 15): Rigrish Rd – resulted in arrest Juvenile Complaint (Code 34): Pine Ln – closed case Arrests & Prisoner Transport Arrests made: Rigrish Rd (Civil Process) South Central Ohio Regional Juvenile Detention Center (Prisoner Transfer) Other Notable Calls Escorts / Parade Detail (Signal 57): Van Crabtree Rd On Patrol (Signal 35): 2 calls Mackletree Rd / ST RTE 125 Second St / Camp St Assist Other Unit (Code 10): ST RTE 73 In Summary On May 1, 2025, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office and local EMS responded to a wide variety of calls including: 13 EMS transports or aid calls 12 criminal or suspicious activity investigations 6 traffic accidents 10 alarm drops Multiple civil and public order matters While new limitations prevent the release of detailed logs, we remain committed to delivering what we can to help the community stay informed.
