Scioto County Ohio Arrest
The Southern Ohio Drug Task Force busted Marquies D. Moore on drug charges last week. But that’s not all the 30-year-old Dayton man is accused of doing.
According to Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Debby Brewer, Marquies Moore had been up to a whole lot of criminal activity. The Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office presented a case against Moore to the Scioto County Grand Jury. Sheriff Donini said Moore’s crimes range from first degree felonies like trafficking in drugs to fifth-degree felonies like possession of criminal tools.
First-degree felonies (also known as F-1 violations) are the most serious crimes. In addition to drug trafficking, other F-1 felonies include
- kidnapping
- murder
- rape
The sentence for an F-1 crime can range between 3 and 11 years in prison. Repeat offenders can get up to another ten years plus hefty fines.
26 Criminal Charges
In total, the Scioto County Grand Jury indicted him on twenty-six criminal charges. The court issued a warrant for Marquies Moore’s arrest after those indictments were returned,
The Southern Ohio Drug Task force, assisted by Portsmouth Police Officers, caught up with him just before 2 pm on Tuesday in the 800 block of Gay Street in Portsmouth.
Moore was arrested and taken to the Scioto County Jail. The Sheriff said Moore is currently held without bail while he waits to be arraigned in Scioto County Common Pleas Court.
