Second Man Arrested for Child Rape
For the second time in two days, the Scioto County SVU has busted a Wheelersburg man for child rape.
On Thursday afternoon, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report from CPS that a 3-year-old had been sexually assaulted.
The Scioto County SVU, led by Det. Sgt. Jodi Conkel immediately launched an investigation. Investigators learned that a 3-year-old had been assaulted and that there could be another victim, aged just 10.
Officers arrested 23-year-old Travis Tyler Risner and charged him with two counts of rape, and one charge of importuning. He’s currently in the Scioto County Jail, held on $210,000.
He joins another child rape suspect, 21-year-old Shannon Ray Bobst of Wheelersburg, who was arrested on Thursday after the SVU investigated a report that a 9-year-old child had been raped.
Bobst is charged with two counts of rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition. Bobst is currently in the Scioto County Jail on a $2220,000 bond.
Both men are due in court on Friday.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing and that anyone with information should contact Detective Sergeant Jodi Conkel at 740-351-1091.
