The investigation into alleged abuse at a Wheelersburg daycare is widening, as a second parent has now come forward with disturbing claims that her child showed sudden and unexplained behavioral changes while in the care of the same employee recently charged with child endangerment.
Kylie Weeks, an employee of Giggles and Wiggles, was arrested Friday evening and booked into the Scioto County Jail on a child endangerment charge. She was later released, a common procedure following an arrest once a court date is pending. As of this weekend, no court appearance had yet appeared on the public docket.
The case first came to light after one mother accused Weeks of physically assaulting her child, alleging the incident was captured on video and resulted in visible facial injuries. Now, a second mother says she believes her own child may also have been harmed.
In a statement shared publicly, the mother said her 13-month-old son had been enrolled at the daycare Monday through Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. and was regularly under Weeks’ care. She described a series of behavioral changes she initially attributed to normal toddler development—until learning of the allegations involving another child.
Her son, she said, began crying at drop-off for the first time, experienced severe sleep disturbances, had prolonged nighttime screaming fits, refused to play alone, and became unusually clingy in the evenings.
“So many things that are VERY out of character for him,” the mother wrote. “I kept telling myself maybe he was teething or getting sick. But now that I know what I know and seeing the horrific videos, I absolutely believe something happened to my child in their care—in Kylie’s care.”
The mother said Weeks was present during every evening pickup that week and that she has since removed her son from the daycare effective immediately. She also said she requested all incident reports involving her child, along with corresponding video footage, but was told the facility’s cameras only retain footage for seven days.
“I will not stop until I see the footage I need to see,” she wrote. “I do not want this swept under the rug.”
She went on to express fear that the alleged abuse was not an isolated incident, stating she believes Weeks was “very comfortable” harming children and calling for justice for all families affected.
Authorities have not confirmed whether additional complaints have been formally filed, nor have they released details about any video evidence under review. Investigators have also not commented on whether further charges are possible.
This remains a developing story, and updates will be reported as more information becomes available.
