Sergeant Karly Mae Haws-Robinson, 43

Sergeant Karly Mae Haws-Robinson (43), a proud veteran of the United States Army, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at her home in Whitehall.  She was born in Portsmouth on November 19, 1978, to Jeffrey M. Haws and the late Branda K. Haws (Withers).

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her Grandmother, Dada X. Haws, three uncles, Rick Gilliam, Robert Haws, Dennis Withers, and a cousin, Brandon Gilliam.

After graduating from Wheelersburg High School, Karly served as a proud member of the United States Army, where she served four years before being honorably discharged. After her service, Karly worked at the American Red Cross while earning her Bachelor of Human Resources degree, which was a career she cherished and flourished in. Karly was a “consciemment professional” and loyal friend in her life and occupation. However, the title she treasured the most was being a “very good mommy” (her son’s words) to her daughter and son, Kajea and Jeffery Robinson.

Karly was a remarkable and caring mother, big sister, daughter, friend, and mentor. She took extreme pride in her love for her family, friends and service to her community. If you were someone blessed to be loved by Karly, you never doubted her commitment or loyalty to you. She loved fiercely with everything she had.

Karly is survived by the love of her life, her husband and forever soul-mate, Russell Robinson, whom she married on February 11, 2012, her children; daughter, Kajea Robinson, and son, Jeffery Robinson, her father; Jeffery M Haws of Wheelersburg, one sister; Sara Spille of Cincinnati, a life long best friend; Amy Frazier of Columbus, and many loving nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, a beloved mother-in-law, brother and sister in-laws, and the whole treasured Robinson family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Bishop Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Scioto Burial Park in McDermott with Military Graveside Rites provided by the American Legion, James Dickey Post #23.  A visitation for friends and family will be on Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
