crash

The 911 dispatch center received a desperate call for help just after 5 pm on Friday evening. Even though the call was brief, as the caller quickly hung up, Nile Township Fire and EMS as well as the Scioto County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the 2900 block of State Route 125. It is located a short distance from the Shawnee Lodge.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene, as were members of Washington Township. In addition to the Squad from Nile Township, EMT Ohio arrived on scene, according to the OSP.

On arrival, the units reported a car in the ditch after going over the guardrail. One person was reportedly ejected from the vehicle and two people were trapped inside, according to the OSP.

OSP advised that a section of 125 should be shut down immediately has they worked.

Just after 6 pm, OSP reported that all three occupants of the vehicle were conscious and had been successfully extracted.

MedFlight was coordinated to land at the Shawnee Lodge. They took the first patient away at apx 6:15 pm.

A second helicopter was sent from Huntington to the Shawnee Lodge by HealthNet, according to reports.

As of now, no names or conditions have been released to the public.

After the occupants were being attended to, OSP began an investigation of the vehicle as tow trucks were on the way. A Trooper did advise of the discovery of some type of illegal substance.

More details should be made available by the OSP very shortly. We will update with that information.
