Sharp-Eyed Deputies Spot Stolen Truck in Wheelersburg Lot

A routine patrol turned into a major bust after Scioto County Sheriff’s deputies spotted something unusual in the early hours of the morning.

Just after 3 a.m., a deputy driving along State Route 522 noticed a vehicle with its doors open and a yellow strobe light flashing on the lot of Jason Conley Truck Sales in Wheelersburg. Trusting their instincts, the deputy pulled in to investigate.

That quick decision paid off. Deputies discovered the truck had been reported stolen and immediately detained a man and woman at the scene.

Inside the vehicle, deputies located a suspicious pill and a power inverter. While the inverter didn’t come back as stolen, the vehicle itself was towed from the lot for further investigation.

The female passenger was given a ride home, but the male suspect wasn’t so lucky. Deputies arrested Keith Stevenson on charges of obstructing official business, receiving stolen property, probation violation, and theft. He was booked into the Scioto County Jail.

Court Appearance

Stevenson appeared in Scioto County Municipal Court, where he was released on his own recognizance. His pre-trial hearing is scheduled for November 3.
