Sheriff Seeks Road Rager Parolee After Shooting

Officers launched a manhunt for a parolee they say was involved in a road rage shooting. They say the 43-year-old led them on a chase and then took off on foot.  But this isn’t the first time the man has failed to cooperate with officers.

It all started Monday night in Pike County when a caller reported shots fired near Fairview and Lapperell Roads after a road rage incident.

Witnesses said the shooter was in a 2010 red Chevy HHR.  Deputies soon located the vehicle on Grassy Fork Road, but the driver took off. The driver, later identified as 43-year-old Josh Bailey, stopped on Zion Road and took off running into the woods. He left behind his passenger, 41-year-old Misty Rinehart. Officers took her into custody.

Officers are still searching for Bailey, whom they described as armed and dangerous. He’s wanted for aggravated menacing, mishandling a firearm in a vehicle, and fleeing and eluding.   Bailey is currently on parole for a prison sentence for failing to comply with police.  The state was already looking for him for violating his parole.  His three-year parole was scheduled to end on November 18, but these new charges may change all that.
