Shocking Elder Abuse – Terrorized Mom Rescued

BAD BEHAVIOR

Deputies investigated an absolutely shocking case of elder abuse after Adult Protective Service told them an anonymous caller told them a woman had given her mother a black eye and had been abusing her.

When deputies and APS workers arrived at the South Point home, the daughter, who served as her mother’s caregiver, tried to stall.

She told them her mother had just peed herself and was not in the shower and that officers would have to wait until she got her ready to speak to them. A few minutes later, she walked the woman back into the living room.

Officers immediately noticed the black eye. When they asked how it happened, officers noted the woman immediately began speaking for her mother and claimed it happened outside of the home.

When officers asked the daughter to leave the room, the older woman began begging them to help her and get her away from her daughter. She said the daughter had given her the black eye and was shaking in fear that she might get in trouble for speaking to them.

Police detained the daughter and put her in the patrol car. The older woman said she was in fear for her life and that the daughter had pulled a gun on her.

Officers took photos of the injuries, and an ambulance transported her to the hospital for treatment.
