Shooting Reported on Kendall Avenue

Five units were dispatched to Kendall Avenue at 10 pm after a report that two men had shot a woman.

There was a massive police response and officers searched the area. The call turned out to be unfounded. Police say they believe it was a bogus call to draw officers away from doing their jobs.

Just before 2 am, a caller told police he heard shots fired and someone screaming on 7th Street. Officers detained two men at the scene but were unable to find anyone with a weapon.

A man turned up in the parking lot of the Scioto County jail a few minutes later and said he saw someone who had been shot n the head behind King’s Daughters Hospital. Police checked the area, but determined the man was having a mental crisis. They took him to the hospital.
