Shooting Up at the BP
Just after 9 pm, a caller reported a woman shooting up in her vehicle while parked at a gas pump at the BP on Gallia.
Officers detained a woman and arranged for her vehicle to be towed. Police took the woman into custody for possessing drug abuse instruments.
Drug Sales Reported in Bannon Park
Witnesses contacted PPD at 5:40 pm to report a woman selling drugs in Bannon Park.
According to the witness, the woman kept meeting up with two men inside an orange Hummer and seemed to be getting drugs from them.
The caller further advised that the woman had a gun on her hip.
Officers checked the area but did not find anyone matching the description.
Troubled Man Overdoses at Kroger
Portsmouth Police once again responded to a call involving a troubled man who has been arrested 65 previous times.
A call came in around 9:20 pm saying he had overdosed at the Kroger on Gay Street. Officers responded to the scene to assist the Portsmouth Fire Department.
He was last arrested the first week of August after a caller reported a shirtless, barefoot man in the dumpster behind the Washington Apartments who appeared to be on drugs.
That was his 20th arrest in the past 12 months. Most of the charges are for disorderly conduct, though he sometimes pulls off his clothes and has been arrested for indecent exposure. At that time the charges were disorderly conduct and probation violation.
Due to the non-violent nature of his crimes, the court nearly always immediately releases him back onto the street.
