A shoplifting suspect allegedly helped himself to a pretty nice dinner around 4:30 pm. Kroger employees said a man walked out with two bottles of liquor and a bunch of meat and left in a gray Kia.
Deputies tracked the vehicle to the owner’s address. He allowed them to search but the items weren’t there. However, the owner gave them the name of the suspect.
Officers headed to Gallia Street and detained a man. They recovered 9 lbs of meat. The store didn’t want to press charges, they just wanted the food back. The store banned the man from their property.
