The Speedway on Gallia continues to deal with a big shoplifting problem. Around 3:30 pm, the store reported that a man in a black jacket had stuffed alcohol in his pockets and then left the store without paying.
Officers caught up with the man at the Royal Inn, and he gave them permission to search him.
Police took him back to the store for an employee to positively identify before taking Reed Jameason into custody on a theft charge.
Police returned to Speedway at 1 am after a caller said a man was trying to fight him in the parking lot. Officers determined the men were arguing over a vehicle that one man’s estranged wife had sold without his permission. Police gave the vehicle to the registered owner and told the two to settle it in civil court.
