Shots Fired at Party Time Bar-Nobody Talks

Just after 2 am, Portsmouth Police responded to a report of shots fired at the Party Time Bar in the 900 block of 4th Street. At least 6 officers responded.

Two males exchanged gunfire in the parking lot outside the bar, according to police reports. One of the suspects fled on foot and officers checked Noggins and Gallia Street but were unable to locate him.

The other suspect had fled before police arrived, and they had no idea where he had gone.

According to the report, not a single person claimed to be a victim or was willing to provide an official witness statement.

SCDN spoke with a witness on the condition of anonymity. The eyewitness said, ” We were standing outside the front of the bar and a fight broke out in the parking lot and 2 black males started shooting at each other. Then, another black male came out of the bar and started shooting into the parking lot as well. I know of two cars that were struck with multiple rounds.”

In the police report, it is confirmed that two vehicles were struck. There were multiple shell casings found at the scene, along with two live rounds.

A female had contacted police earlier that night to report an assault. The victim reported that she was assaulted in the parking lot with a leg injury. She said that she did not have a ride to the hospital to have it examined.

Medical personnel attempted to reach the woman. Unfortunately, the gates of the common area were locked. According to the Fire Department, there is no key box at the complex and therefore no way for them to help her (or anyone else).

It is unknown whether the 2 incidents were connected.

The Fire Department said they would return to assess the female’s injuries once the gates were unlocked.
