Sick Man in Hospital Gown Left Sitting in Parking Lot

Officers were faced with an impossible situation just before 5:30 pm, when a sick man refused all offers of help.

It all started when a woman called the police to a parking lot on 8th Street. She said she was there with her son, who was wearing a hospital gown and acting “out of his mind.”

Officers headed to the scene and called for an ambulance. Officers noted he was in obviously bad physical shape with swollen, cracked, and bruised arms and legs.

He wanted his mother to take him home with her, but she refused. He did not want to get out of her vehicle, and he refused all offers of help from medics.

The man was able to answer questions coherently, so officers felt they could not force him to accept medical care. Police removed him from the vehicle, he signed a form refusing medical treatment, and officers left him in the parking lot.

Overdose in Urgent Care Parking Lot

Officers responded to Kinneys Lane at 5:30 pm for a report of a person overdosing in the SOMC Urgent Care Parking Lot.

When officers arrived on the scene, the patient refused medical help and did not want to speak to members of the Quick Response Team.

Officers released the patient into the care of a relative.

At 8:11 pm, officers were called to Offnere  Street for a report of an apparently high man acting strangely. When police arrived on the scene, he agreed to leave with a member of the quick response team.
