Smackdown at the Family Dollar

Officers responded to a report of an assault at the West Portsmouth Family Dollar just after 8 pm. A man said he’d arrived at the store to pick up his buddy’s car. He said a woman who was not supposed to be behind the wheel was driving, and he was there to retrieve the vehicle.

He said he had not yet approached the woman, but she got out of the vehicle and smacked him in the face.

Both parties left before police arrived, but witnesses said there was a verbal altercation between the two and that the man was carrying a weapon.

Neighbor Flings Poo Worstell Street

An aggravated Worstell Street neighbor contacted officers at 5 pm to report her neighbors were throwing dog feces into her yard. She claimed it was an ongoing problem.

An officer who spoke to the neighbor who said that the property where the doggie doo was deposited actually belonged to them.

Officers said there was nothing they could do until a property survey was conducted. However, a deputy did suggest to the neighbor that they find somewhere else to put their poo.
