A man who just can’t seem to stay away from the Speedway on Gallia racked up this third arrest in nine days. In this case, he actually requested to be arrested. This is an ongoing problem at the business.
The parent company of the convenience store and gas station complained to Portsmouth Police earlier in the year about the number of homeless people and drug addicts who show up at the business and harass customers and employees.
At the time, PPD explained to the company that this was a big problem in Portsmouth due to the number of rehab facilities and police were doing the best they could.
This time, the call came in at 6:30 pm, that Caleb Anderson, who had previously been barred from the property, was on the lot.
When an employee asked him to leave, he said he wanted officers to come and take him to jail.
The police complied with the request, and Anderson was booked into the Scioto County Jail for the 15th time, the third time in the past nine days. Police arrested Anderson nine times in 2021, and he was sentenced to 169 days for probation violation back in November.
Anderson was released on May 13. Since then, police have picked him up four times on charges of criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, and probation violation.
