Spitting Mad Shoplifter Threatens Employees
An angry man made threatening remarks to convenience store employees just after 5:30 am. An employee of the store told PPD that when they told the man, who had previously been caught stealing from the store, that he was no longer allowed on the property, he became angry.
Employees said he made threatening remarks and spat on the window. The man and his female companion argued with employees before leaving. Police told the store to call them should the pair come back.
Three hours later, the pair returned to the store before leaving on foot. Employees provided possible names for the suspects, and officers searched the area but could not locate them.
Truck Stolen From Portsmouth Ambulance
A thief made off with a truck belonging to an employee of Portsmouth Ambulance.
The business said they captured the theft of a red and grey truck on camera. Officers took information for a report.
Kroger Shoplifter Arrested
PPD responded to Kroger at 8:30 pm for a report of a shoplifter. Employees said the guy had fled the scene but described him as wearing a gray shirt, jeans, and a blue hat.
Police caught up with the man near Staker’s and took him into custody.
Burglar Busted on Harrison Street
At 9:30 pm, officers responded to a report of a group of people arguing under the overpass on Harrison Street.
When officers arrived, they learned the incident involved a break-in on Harrisonville Avenue.
Police took a man into custody and impounded and photographed a number of items he had on him. They then returned the items to their owner and booked the man into the Scioto County Jail.
