State Rules Mearan Death Natural, No Autopsy Performed

Accused human trafficker Mike Mearan died of natural causes according to the death certificate issued by the State of Ohio. However, according to that same death certificate, no autopsy was performed.

The death certificate cited heart issues, kidney failure, and diabetes as contributing factors to the embattled Portsmouth attorney’s death.

At the time of his death, Mearan was under house arrest awaiting trial on charges of human trafficking.

The death certificate says he died primarily from a lack of blood to the brain brought on by a heart attack.

Mearan’s body was cremated. No autopsy was requested by any state officials or family.
