Steve Warner, 73, of Portsmouth, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Grant Hospital in Columbus. He was born April 3, 1950, in Portsmouth, the son of the late Oval Ellis and Millie Anastasia Gursky Warner.
Steve was a member of Local 521 Pipefitters Union of Huntington, WVA. He enjoyed fishing and boating, but his favorite thing to do was spend time with his family and friends, followed closely by going for a drive in his 1995 Corvette or a ride on his Harley Sportster. Steve also enjoyed feeding and watching the birds around his home.
Surviving are his three daughters, Linda (Matt) Wollett, Shelly (Mike) Freeman, and Kristi (Josh) Coleman, all of Marion; his brother, Walter Warner of Portsmouth; two sisters, Florence “Ann” (Larry) Drummond of Portsmouth and Nancy Sue (Jeff) Stephens of West Portsmouth; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, Steve was also preceded in death by his brother, George Warner.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 2 P.M. at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Dennis Dawes, minister, officiating. The interment will be in Scioto Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from noon until the funeral hour Tuesday.
