Still No Help For Troubled Woman

The troubled woman who kept 911 dispatchers and Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies busy for an entire weekend was back at it again early Tuesday morning.  We told you how deputies and EMS transported her to the hospital after a string of 911 calls that grew stranger as the weekend went along.

It looks as if the hospital did not keep the troubled woman for very long because she called 911 again at 1:25 am on Tuesday morning, screaming that her grandmother’s teacups were on the Internet. Dispatch said she called multiple times, first reporting someone was stealing her neighbor’s tires and then asking if anyone had gone to her grandmother’s to check on the teacups. Dispatch reported she called again and again despite being told to stop misusing 911.

An officer finally met up with her in a church parking lot and called for an ambulance because they suspected she was overdosing.  EMS followed the ambulance to the hospital. She made repeated claims that family and grandparents were dead, but officers had confirmed they were alive and well but had turned off their phones to avoid her calls.

The woman admitted she’d taken cocaine and meth the previous day. Officers said they were going to look into having the prosecutor’s office charge her with abusing 911. The hospital agreed to keep her on a 72-hour-hold.
