A gold Toyota Camry vanished from Mabert Road just before 1 a.m., kicking off a late-night game of high-stakes hide and seek—and thanks to fast police work, it ended with a happy reunion.
Minutes after the 911 call, officers got a hit: the car was pinging on Pleasant Valley Road. Responding units quickly located the stolen Camry, but there was a catch—no sign of the thief, and no key in sight.
That’s when the victim’s son stepped up. He came to identify the vehicle, and officers followed him back to his mother’s home so he could drop off his car. Then, in a move straight out of a buddy cop movie, police gave him a ride back to reclaim the Camry.
Another officer stood by to protect the vehicle until it was safely returned to its rightful owner.
