Strange Behavior at Speedway & Kroger
Speedway employees contacted officers at 5:40 am to report there was a woman sitting on the floor of the store with her shoes in her hands, exhibiting some strange behavior. Police spoke with the woman and asked her to leave.
At 11 am, Kroger employees reported a man and woman in the lobby of the store saying odd things to customers. The pair refused to leave. By the time police arrived, the man had already left. Officers advised the woman to leave.
At 3 am, on Sunday, a caller reported a camo-clad man stealing items from Speedway. When officers arrived on the scene, the man admitted to stealing from the store and returned the items. Police also learned the man was riding a stolen bicycle.
Officers contacted the rightful owner, who came to retrieve the bicycle. Speedway barred the man from the premises. Neither the store nor the bicycle owner wanted to press charges.
Just after 5 pm on Sunday, a Kroger employee reported a woman at the front desk who said she was in the process of overdosing. An ambulance transported the woman to the hospital for treatment.
Police returned to Speedway at 2 am on Monday after employees reported a shoplifter inside the store. Police took the man into custody for a probation violation.
