Just before 2 am, police investigated a report of a strange chemical smell coming from a house on Jackson Avenue.
Officers responded to investigate but did not smell anything unusual. They knocked on the door, but no one answered.
At 5 am, a Coles Blvd caller contacted 9-1-1 to report her house smelled like paint thinner. When officers arrived at the home, they smelled a strong odor of gasoline.
PFD responded to the home and determined that gasoline from a car had run into the basement. Firefighters advised the homeowner on the best way to clean up the problem.
