A startled Minford resident called 911 around 1 a.m. after a woman wandered onto her porch and allegedly tried to open the front door.
🚔 Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies rushed to the scene and quickly took the suspect into custody.
The woman was identified as Shaina Stephenson, who wasn’t just trespassing — she was wanted for a probation violation. Deputies booked her into the Scioto County Jail on that charge.
Stephenson has a lengthy history with the law:
- ⚖️ 2023: Convicted of making a domestic threat and placed in a diversion program.
- 💊 2024: Sentenced to probation on a drug possession charge — but violated that probation multiple times, leading to an active warrant earlier this year.
🚨 Porch Safety Tip:
If a stranger’s knocking (or jiggling your handle) after midnight, don’t open the door — call 911 immediately. Motion lights, video doorbells, and keeping doors locked at all times can help deter unwanted visitors.
Because sometimes, the knock at the door isn’t opportunity — it’s trouble.
