Suspicious Man Causes Concern At Buckeye Dairy Bar

Buckeye Dairy Bar

A suspicious man wandering in the vicinity of a popular area restaurant caused concern. Just after 9:30 pm, the owner of the Buckeye Dairy Bar on US 52 reported an apparently homeless man hanging around the area of the dairy bar and nearby assisted living facility.

The man has been an ongoing problem in the area. Officers said they removed him from the property last week and responded to other complaints from local businesses.

Police told the man that he cannot be on private property or stand in the road. The man told police he was trying to get back to Maysville but he has no one to come and get him.

Fleeing Suspect Runs Into Barbed Wire Fence

When an Ohio State Trooper tried to pull a suspect over near Marne Avenue, the driver fled and hit a barbed wire fence before fleeing on foot.

While assisting in the hunt for the suspect, a Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputy discovered a second male on the scene had an open warrant through the New Boston Police Department.

The NBPD gave the deputy permission to give the man a summons to New Boston Mayor’s Court in lieu of booking him into jail. The Deputy gave the man a ride home.
