Taco Bell Drops 11 Items From Menu

Get ready to say “adios” to some of your favorite Taco Bell menu items. The culprit? Taco Bell executives blamed COVID-19. They said in a statement that the virus inspired the company to analyze the way it runs its restaurants. “We want to ensure an easy and fast ordering experience for our guests and team members, while simultaneously opening up opportunities for even more innovation.”

The company decided to add some new menu items as well. Taco Bell said to expect more vegan options in the future and possibly the return of a few classics.  Some items are only available if you order via the Taco Bell app. So, what’s on the way out?

Off The Menu

The following items are cut from the menu starting August 13:

Tacos

Burritos

Specialties

Cravings Value

Snacks

Breakfast

The company said it realized many vegetarian favorites are gone. They suggested customers substitute beans for any protein.

What’s New?

The restaurant chain said it changed up the way it normally tests new menu items. Instead of everyone working in a test kitchen, employees met virtually and used kitchen simulations. Instead of focus groups testing the new food, the company used contactless drive-thru tastings.
