Tana J. Goodman Adkins, 70, of South Shore

August 1, 1950 - March 16, 2021

Tana J (Goodman) Adkins of South Shore, Ky. arrived at her heavenly home on March 16, 2021. She passed in her home surrounded by family following a brief battle with cancer.

Tana was born in Portsmouth, Ohio August 1, 1950. She was a life-long member of the South Shore Church of God and graduated from McKell high school in 1968. She then married her high school sweetheart Greg Adkins on July 7, 1969. She furthered her education and graduated from Shawnee State University in 1984 with an associate degree in nursing. She was so overjoyed at her pinning ceremony that she could not stop smiling all day. She worked passionately as a nurse for over 30 years.

Tana was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her ability to make a song or joke out of any situation always kept her family joyful. Her silly sayings and nicknames will live on through her family forever. In her faith she led by example, never passing judgment, only bringing others to Christ through joy and celebration. She truly had a love for Christ that showed in her love for others.

Tana was greeted at the pearly gates by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as well as her husband Greg Adkins, father Floyd Goodman, brother Dwaine Goodman, beloved son Tim Adkins, her grandparents, her father, and mother-in-law Raymond and Garnet Adkins, and several aunts and uncles.

Tana is survived by her mother Wanda Goodman, two daughters Tami (Jeff) VanBibber, Tara (Beth) Adkins, a daughter-in-law Kathy Adkins. Five grandchildren Donavan Adkins, Deven (Morgan) VanBibber, Drew (Laiken) VanBibber, Dylan (Allie) VanBibber, and Jordan Roark. Six great-grandchildren Xavier, Zander, Zaylie, Kaiser, Emma, and Zac. Tana loved all of her family including In-laws, aunts and uncles, many cousins, nieces, and nephews, including a special nephew, Michael Dwaine Goodman, and a special niece, Shelley (Carl) Lewis. Tana is also survived by her three very best friends Donna, Wanda, and Judy.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at the South Shore Church of God at 85 Cecil Robbins Ave, South Shore, KY 41175. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, service will begin at 7:00 pm.
