Thomas Marshall Redmon, 90, of Portsmouth, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Portsmouth Health & Rehab. He was born on May 20, 1935, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Hurmus Marshall and Julia Ruth Strickland Redmon.
Tom was employed as a salesman with UZ Engineering for an extended period and also served in the Navy Reserves. He graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1953 and pursued further studies at Miami University. A dedicated supporter of the Trojans, he served as the PHS Basketball statistician for four decades. Additionally, Tom was an enthusiastic follower of the OSU Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. He was also a member of Cornerstone Church and the American Legion James Dickey Post #23.
Tom is survived by his wife, Delilah Ann Boote Redmon, whom he married on June 22, 1975, in Jackson. The couple recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Also surviving is his son, Douglas Marshall Redmon of Portsmouth; his brother, Timothy James (Judy) Redmon of Springfield, VA, and their daughter, Michelle (Dominic Maier) Redmon; sister and brother-in-law, Carla and Michael Hasler of Vanceburg, KY, and their children, Julee (Sam) Howard, Michelle (Jeff) McCane, John Hasler, and their families.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025, at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth, with Elder Ralph Clay presiding. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
