Three Indicted on Gun & Drug Charges
During its latest session, the Scioto County Grand Jury indicted three men on a list of drug and weapons charges. The three are charged in three unrelated incidents, and all are in a lot of trouble.
Lawrence C. Hicks, 47, of Cincinnati, was indicted for tampering with evidence, having weapons under a disability, aggravated possession of drugs, possession of a fentanyl-related compound, possession of cocaine, and possession of heroin.
Portsmouth police first busted Hicks in January of last year for tampering with evidence, obstructing official business, and having a weapon under a disability, but he was released after six days in jail. The Drug Task Force busted him again in September of last year for trafficking in meth, heroin, and crack, as well as possessing weapons and criminal tools.
West Portsmouth resident Devin McKenzie, 25, was indicted for having weapons under a disability, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, aggravated possession of drugs, possession of a fentanyl-related compound, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Scioto County Sheriff’s Office busted McKenzie back on March 2 for having weapons under a disability, probation violation, and fictitious license plates. He served seven days in jail before being released.
Twenty-one-year-old Matthew Fraulini was indicted for improperly handling firearms in a vehicle, having weapons under a disability, possessing criminal tools, aggravated trafficking in drugs, and drug possession.
Portsmouth Police arrested him on March 5, and he was released on $28,000 bond that same day.
