Folks who like to cause trouble seem to be drawn to local gas stations and convenience stores like moths to a flame and that means officers end up making multiple calls every day to sort out the trouble.

In the past, PPD has cited the number of rehabs in the area as a factor.

At 5 a.m., an employee at Speedway told officers a person he recognized came in and stole a bunch of items before taking off. Police searched near the train tracks hoping to find the man, but didn’t have any luck.

The Valero Gas on Gallia contacted officers at noon to request that officers bar a woman causing problems from the property.

At 6 pm, a man asked to officers at the Fast Stop Market. When police spoke to him, they learned he was having reoccurring issues with his brother that didn’t require a police response.

Officers were called to the Sixth Street Carryout at 7 pm, for a report that a woman had threatened to harm herself. Officers checked in with the woman and summoned medics. An ambulance transported her to the hospital.

Just after 12:30 a.m., Speedway employees reported a red-headed shoplifter who ran in the direction of Aldi. Officers couldn’t locate the suspect, but the employee was able to identify him from a booking photo.
