Two Revived with Narcan in Lucasville

drug crisis

It’s rare that a day goes by in Scioto County without officers and EMS personnel responding to reports of individuals passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle either at a gas station or even at stop lights and this weekend was no different.

Just after 10 a.m., a witness called 9-1-1 to report two men passed out in a black Chevy Silverado in Lucasville. A deputy and an EMS squad responded to the scene.

By the time an officer arrived, they learned that a passerby had administered Narcan to both the driver and the passenger. One individual had been revived and the other was still passed out.

The officer administered a second dose of Narcan and was able to revive the second man. Both individuals declined medical treatment.

However, the Highway Patrol arrived and cited the driver for DUI.

EMS responded to another report of an overdose at a Wheelersburg home just after 8 p.m. A woman’s family said she had overdosed and they were out of Narcan.

EMS revived the woman, but she refused further medical treatment.
