Unruly Child Sets Bed on Fire

Police received a disturbing report about a 9-year-old child just before 9 am. A caller said the child was being unruly and had set her bed on fire.

When officers spoke to a mental health professional, she advised officers to take the child to the ER. She said she would contact a social worker.

An ambulance transported the child to the hospital, and officers spoke to a CPS employee. CPS said they would conduct a follow-up investigation of the incident.

Officers were once again called out for an unruly child at noon, but it was a far less serious situation. A 14-year-old had locked herself in the bathroom with her sister’s phone and was posting thins on the Internet. The girl refused to listen to her mom and come out of the bathroom.

An officer advised the child to give back the phone and reported that the child didn’t feel she had to listen to what her parents said. Officers advised her otherwise and explained to the parents how they could press unruly charges.
