Violent Incidents Persist in Wayne Hills with Shots Fired

More violent crime coming out of Wayne Hills on Saturday afternoon.

Just before 2:45 pm, a caller contacted 911 to say at least two people were shooting at him.

A team of PPD officers responded quickly to the incident and set up a perimeter to locate possible runners.

The first suspect was quickly identified as Brody Hopkins. Police searched the nearby streets and alleyways for Hopkins and other possible suspects. (photo not available)

Next, they identified Ricky Eldridge, age 30, as an additional suspect.

Eldridge has been arrested on 10 previous occasions in Scioto County. Among the charges are: parole violations, burglary, breaking and entering, aggravated possession of drugs, as well as lesser charges related to theft and drug possession.

Additionally, Bailey Mullins, age 23, was mentioned as a person of interest. Mullins has only been arrested once for a minor misdemeanor in Scioto County.

As a detective processed the scene, Hopkins and Eldridge were taken to the Portsmouth Police Department for questioning.
