Walmart Semi Smashes into Farmers Bank

A semi-truck hit the drive-thru canopy at the Kentucky Farmer’s Bank in Wheelersburg.

The bank manager called the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office around 10:30 am, anda deputy responded to the bank to check out the security footage.

The officer viewed security footage that showed a Walmart 18-wheeler hitting the canopy around 7:30 pm. The officer also viewed a video from the Speedeemart that showed a man getting out of the truck and walking across the street.

The deputy was able to get some identifying numbers from the truck. The bank said it would contact Walmart. The manager did not want to file a report and said they would get back with the sheriff’s office if Walmart didn’t want to cooperate after viewing the evidence.

Later that afternoon, an officer investigated another truck hitting something and leaving the scene, this time on Dixon Mill Road. A truck took out a utility pole and then took off, leaving the pole across a driveway.

Officers contacted Frontier, and they dispatched a crew.
